FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Last Sunday’s Gospel
From the Principal and Assistant Principal…
Luke gave us the shortened version of the Our Father and also spoke about seeking and we will find and knocking and the door will be opened. It also told the story of waking up a neighbour if there was something we really needed and pressing even if they were reluctant to help when you needed it. All the readings were about prayer, and to persist in prayer. We must not give up even if we think our prayers are going unanswered. Sometimes we may not be asking for something that is in the best interest of ourselves or others - “Thy will be done”.
School Photos - Next Wednesday 6 August
School Photo day will be next Wednesday 6 August. The photos are a representation of our school and will be looked back on in years to come and we don’t want anyone cringing. Children are expected to wear their full Winter school uniform.
Please support us in ensuring that your child reflects our uniform expectations as per our usual procedures. This includes;
- All hair should be tied back or up – not left out loose or long or half up/half down. We have hair ties at school that we will give the students should they forget, just as we do on other school days.
- Haircuts must not be extreme – shaved sections or significant differences in length that draw attention are not permitted.
- Earrings for girls should be small, plain studs or sleepers.
- Any religious ornament, for example, a crucifix, is on a thin chain that will break easily if caught.
- Ties must be worn.
We are proud of Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, quite rightly, and want to show the world that too.
Term 3 Parent Information and Q and A Session
The first parent information and Q and A Session for Term 3 will take place on:
Monday 18th August at 6 pm
OR
Tuesday 19th August at 1:30 pm
Parents have requested an update on Behaviour data, so this will be shared with parents during this session. We have received our school report for the Cyclic Inquiry that was held in Term 1 and will also be sharing the recommendations from this inquiry with Parents. At our last parent Q and A, the parents expressed their interest in exploring updates to our uniform. We have explored this in its earliest stages and will share some very initial thinking. Please send through any questions that may need a bit of investigation so we can respond during the session. Questions without notice are ok too. If you can attend, we would love to see you there.

SCHOOL OPAL CARDS / SCHOOL BUSES
Just a reminder of the importance of students carrying and correctly tapping on their Opal cards when using public transport services.
Recent observations continue to show low compliance rates among some student passengers, which impacts our ability to accurately monitor patronage and ensure adequate service delivery. Your continued support in reinforcing the following key messages to students is appreciated:
- Students must carry their Opal card at all times when using public transport.
- Opal cards should be tapped on and off for every journey.
- Tap-on data helps assess demand and plan reliable school bus services.
