FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Last Sunday’s Gospel…
Jesus is the gardener in this story who pleads with the owner of the orchard - God, to let him have one more year to see if he can get a fig tree to bear fruit. If he can’t, it will be cut down and replaced. Jesus doesn’t give up on us either. He keeps tending us so we will bear fruit knowing that’s how we will be judged by the people around us and by God.

Principal and Parent Information and Q and A Session
Twelve parents joined me on Monday to hear about behaviour at school and to chat about some other things. A leaflet will be published soon to give you all the details. By request, I will go through the Awards System next time.
Play First
We will also be trialling playing first and then eating after the play period. The students have by and large adjusted well to eating more healthy food first. With many eager to get out to play, eating after then may be more relaxed and students may eat what their parents want them to. We will start in Term 2 and again, see how we go.
P&F Substitute
So far this information session and the Pancake Day have been a suitable substitute for the P & F all agreed. Offers of more support from parents are greatly appreciated and we will get better at organising how to go about that. The Easter raffle tickets will be out asap.
Uniform
Soon school hats will be available in reversible form with house colours on the inside. A few parents asked about tweaking some other aspects of the uniform. We can talk about that at the next session.
Award Notification
Feedback about this was very positive. It seems to be working well so far.
Cross Country Carnival
For some reason the Cross Country Carnival Event has not come out as a notification. We will try to rectify it and send one. You can simply go onto Compass to give consent too. It’s this coming Monday at the ‘duckpond’ reserve. Parent helpers are also required for this event and you can now highlight that this is something you’d like to do via the event on Compass. There was a glitch around this aspect as well and we apologise for that.
Easter Raffle
Our raffle tickets for our Easter baskets will be sent home today. Each booklet contains 40 tickets for 50c each, or $20.00 for the booklet. Please remember to write your name and a contact number on the left-hand side of the raffle ticket so that we know who has won in our raffle.
Please remember your donations of Easter eggs and bunnies. The more donations we have, the more baskets we can make. We would like to thank the families who have already donated these items.

Harmony Day Celebrations:
This year our school will be celebrating Harmony Day on Friday 4 April 2025. This special day is all about inclusion, respect, and celebrating our diverse community.
As part of our Harmony Day celebrations, we are inviting students to share their many gifts and talents with the extended Mary Immaculate Community. If your child / family would like to share a song, poem, dance or cultural performance at assembly please fill in this google form.
As a key part of this celebration, students are encouraged to wear orange or traditional cultural attire to celebrate this day.
Join us as we showcase performances and reflections from the many cultural backgrounds we are lucky enough to share here at Mary Immaculate Eagle Vale. We will confirm the early start time with you once we know how many performances we will be seeing.
