FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
Last Sunday’s Gospel…
In the Gospel and readings form last Sunday, we are given insight into the divinity of Jesus as well as His humanity. The reading speak of the one great sacrifice of Jesus that brings all people back to God and His elevation to the right hand of God the Father as a result. We also have to play our part by being ready for when Jesus returns in glory – at the end of life as we now know it. No-one
knows when that will be but our lives now determine what part we have in that perfection in time.
News…
Classes 2025
We have determined classes for the students for next year taking into account your requests – thank you. I will be able to finalise staffing once the recruitment process for the Acting Assistant Principal for 2025 has been completed in about two weeks time. That appointment has implications for other staffing as do our increased student numbers for 2025. I shall keep you updated as soon as I am able.
Parent and Carer Information and Q&A Sessions
Feedback from parents and carers who attended the session on Monday was positive about what was presented. They have requested another session this year so we will do the same on Monday 2 December. Both will run for about an hour from 1.15pm and 6.15pm. We will send a brief questionnaire out shortly. One of the topics we will discuss is the P&F and what that or another model could look like for us.
Parent Induction
I have had some enquiries about Parent Induction courses and you will soon be receiving information about the Swimming Carnival early in 2025 and may like to help with that. You only need to come to the course once and we keep a register. Being a busy time of year for you all I thought it might be convenient to run one course before the daytime Parent Q&A from 12.45pm and another at the end of the evening one at 7.15pm. That way you don’t need to come to the school twice. Please feel free to attend the Parent Q&A and / or Induction most convenient to you.
Swimming Lessons
We are in the process of organising Swimming lessons for K - 2 for next year if possible. It would be 8 lessons – one a week during Term 4. Being so close to a swimming pool will save considerably on cost and being able to swim I’m sure you will agree is an extremely important like skill. It is also part of the curriculum so all students will be involved. I believe they used to happen here prior to Covid. We are only in the planning phase at the moment so will keep you informed.
Sporting Achievement
I was very proud to be able to attend the CDF Sporting Awards for the Diocese of Wollongong last Friday evening. Maddison T, Maia T and Ceazar F were all very worthy recipients having achieved remarkable levels of accomplishment at State and National level. The most touching part of the evening for me was at the end, when each of these students separately made an effort to come and find me and Mr Burns and thank us for attending the event. I didn’t see any other student from other schools make that effort. It shows just what a special place Mary Immaculate is.

God Bless,
