FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
Some of Jesus’ disciples found Jesus’ teaching difficult in the Gospel account from last Sunday.
There were a number who even left Him because they realised they couldn’t put God first in their lives. At times we can find it hard to do the same but we find that when we do, everything else falls into place and we have a deep level of joy and satisfaction in knowing that God is with us. Christ our way and life.
NEWS
Uniforms
With the passing of Father’s Day you can choose full summer or full winter uniforms for your children. As you know we brought it forward this year due to the unseasonably warm weather. Please use the change of uniform time as an opportunity to make sure you have the correct uniform. If we can get the small things like uniform right, we’ll get the big things right as well and I want us all to be proud of representing a school we are all proud of. If you are unsure of the correct uniform please do not hesitate to contact the School Office or visit Lowes Store at Macarthur Square.
Thank you for entering into the spirit of our Book Week Open Classrooms and Parade Day. We had hundreds of visitors come in and it gave us a chance to see how we could accommodate you all on the new site. Please make sure that you keep to designated areas. Most visitors did but a few keen parents wanting photos or not understanding why we have barriers in place made it a little difficult to move students around or stopped parents who were doing the right thing from being able to see.
It was unexpectedly warm. We don’t have an area of the school large enough to have all parents and students under cover now that we have grown so large. Please know we are trying to include you as much as we can while also being able to move 550 students around the school safely. We also always have to consider evacuation procedures. A lot goes on behind the scenes that you don’t know about. If you are ever wondering why we do something a certain way, please just ask! We always have a reason. We look forward to welcoming you into the school again with events such as Grandparent’s Day in the future.
God Bless,
Michelle Rolfe
Principal
If your child is having a birthday during the week chlidren are allowed to share cup cakes with their class. Please do NOT provide party bags for the class.

Throughout Term Three all students will be writing a speech in class and presenting it to their peers. This is a wonderful way for students to develop their oral presentation skills, increase their confidence and prepare them for public speaking competitions they will experience in Stage Three and beyond.
This week our Stage Three students have been presenting their speeches in class and the best speeches from each class will be presented at our school final. From there one student from Year Five and one student from Year Six will be selected to represent Mary Immaculate at the Diocesan Public Speaking Competition in September.
The students from Kindergarten to Year Four will be presenting their speeches in class over the next few weeks. Three students will be selected from each class to showcase their speech to their grade.
We look forward to celebrating the talents of our students as they deliver their speeches over the coming weeks.
SOCCER GALA DAY
On Friday 23 August, nearly 90 students from Years 3 to 6 participated in a fun-filled day of soccer at Kooringa Reserve, Raby, during the Western Region Soccer Gala Day. Our 9 teams represented themselves and our school with dignity and respect, embodying many of our core values throughout the event.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated team managers, who played a crucial role in guiding the teams on and off the field for 8 rounds of play. Their quick decision-making during the 1-minute half-time breaks and their efforts to keep all players hydrated were invaluable.
It was fantastic to see all the smiling faces and hear about the incredible plays when the students returned to the school tent during break times. We also extend our gratitude to the parents who stayed to support their children and cheer on the teams. Your encouragement contributed greatly to the day's success.
