Dear Parents / Carers,
As we make preparations to begin a new school year by finalising the staff and students for 2023 we do this with the knowledge that we will be farewelling some of the members of our community. On Friday at our Thanksgiving Mass, we will have the opportunity to farewell some of our staff. They will all be beginning or continuing new adventures in 2023. To each of these valued staff Sue Bryant, Andrew Astill, Maryanne Bulfon, Megan King, Jessica Walker, Hollie Wulf (12-months leave) we say ‘thank you’ for the contributions you have made to making a difference to the lives of our students. We wish each of these staff abundant blessings as they begin their new adventures. We also wish to acknowledge the wonderful contributions of the dedicated casual staff who have contributed to our community throughout the year.
During the last week, our Year 6 students and their families celebrated a milestone in their lives, the completion of their Primary Education. For the majority of these students Mary Immaculate has been the only school they have ever known. Year 6, we want you to be justly proud of how you have conducted yourselves in your final year of Primary School. As a group, you have repeatedly reflected our school values and shown through your actions towards each other and the other members of the community that you are both inclusive and welcoming. You have warmly welcomed newcomers. You have accepted differences. You have been honest. You have been thoughtful. You have been trustworthy. In life, the ability to be deeply trusted by others is a quality that will hold you in great stead. You have earned great respect from your teachers and fellow students because you could be trusted. Thank you for accepting the mandate of servant leadership and being accepting of the opportunities presented to bring this to life. Each of you have been wonderful examples and has generously exhibited the qualities of servant leadership.
As our Year 6 students leave us to begin the next phase of their journey, I thank them for sharing their special gifts with all of us here at Mary Immaculate.
Year 6 2022, please be assured that each of you takes with you our love and prayers and you leave with us the memory of the special, unique people that each of you are.
For many of our families their association with the Mary Immaculate community will be coming to an end.
I take this opportunity to thank these families for living out their commitment to the school and for contributing to the building of this wonderful community in a multitude of ways.
As we are in the midst of the final full week of the 2022 school year it comes to that time of year when reflection and thanksgiving occur. I feel very honoured and privileged to work within the Mary Immaculate Primary School community. I am so fortunate to work among dedicated colleagues, inspirational and supportive priests, enthusiastic students and a parent and parish community that is endlessly giving. We are especially grateful to the members of the P&F Executive and all the parent volunteers who have assisted our community in any way this year. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of everyone.
On behalf of all our staff I take this opportunity to wish all our students and their families a safe and rest-filled summer vacation. We look forward to the many opportunities available in 2023 to continue to work in partnership for the continued growth and development of the most important people in our school, our students.
Wishing you all abundant blessing for the Christmas Season.
Mrs Christina Murray
Principal
