Next week we will be celebrating Book Week on Wednesday 21 August, with several engaging events for our students. 

At 11:30am, parents, grandparents and carers are warmly invited to join the students in their classrooms. During this time you will be able to work with your child in completing a fun Book Week activity. From 12:30pm to 1:10pm, families can enjoy a picnic lunch with their children on our top playgrounds. Please bring a picnic lunch and a blanket or camp chair to sit on. 

The day will conclude with our Annual Book Character Parade. This will be held at 1:20pm. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as a character from a book. Younger siblings are also invited to dress up as a book character and there will be an opportunity for toddlers and preschoolers to participate in the parade after grades K - 6. The parade is expected to conclude at 2:20pm, in time for usual dismissal procedures. 

It is extremely exciting to be able to gather and promote a love of literature as we celebrate reading at Mary Immaculate. We can't wait to see all of the students’ fantastic costumes and share this with our MIEV families.
