FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
REMINDER ASSEMBLY THIS FRIDAY
From the Principal
Jesus explained to His disciples that He was the Bread from Heaven that would give life to the world. They would have been confused by this wondering how their friend and teacher could possibly be bread. In the Old Testament God provided Moses and the Israelites escaping from Egypt manna from heaven so they could survive in the desert. Jesus was telling the disciples that He would replace that with Himself and become the Eucharist that continues to nourish us today. Of course that didn’t make sense to the apostles but with the Last Supper and Jesus’ death and resurrection, events we know about, we have the advantage of being able to understand what Jesus meant.
NEWS
The approach of Book Week is an exciting time with many students, and staff, talking about their costumes. It will be a lovely day. Please don’t feel any pressure to spend a great deal of money on costumes. The point is to celebrate and enjoy reading and some of the best costumes are very creative but low cost. I look forward to seeing you when you arrive for classroom visits before I have to leave for a Principal Meeting. I’m sorry I’ll miss the parade!
Colour Run
As I am sure you have heard, the colour run is generating a lot of excitement. There are around 200 of our students who have already made the total around $20,000! Many have yet to make a donation but there’s still time! If you are having any trouble registering, please don’t hesitate to ask for help.
God Bless,
Michelle Rolfe
