This year, Year 5 are using one to one iPads as learning tools. We have been experimenting with apps and we have been doing lots of research. We have been using apps like: Kahoot!, Number Pieces, Canva, Google Classroom and Sketches. Our grade has also been able to engage in some games to help with our learning. For example, we used Temple Run for math, we used it for our topic Whole Number, we got to play with it as a different way of getting a number (instead of rolling the dice), we then had to use our score to do our work for Whole Number. We have also been doing research on Safari and Google/Chrome, we are enjoying this and  are eager to learn more during the year. We have completed lots of projects on the iPads, including creating slides to show our work, creating infographics using Canva, and practicing our typing skills by completing some of our writing lessons on the iPads. We feel very lucky to be the first grade to use the 1:1 BYOD program, and are really enjoying using our iPads in class and at home to complete our school work.
