LIBRARY NEWS

Welcome to Book Week 2022– a week when we celebrate Australian Authors and Illustrators and their contribution to our literacy competency! This year our theme is ‘Dreaming with eyes open!’, and so we have the opportunity to think about the dreams we enjoy when we are reading, the pleasures reading can bring, and the dreams which come alive for us through the books and their characters.
Tomorrow morning we will celebrate with our Book Character Parade - all students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We look forward to seeing many wonderful characters at school! After the Parade we will welcome Author Sue Whiting, who will entertain each class with stories about her writing, then throughout the day the students will enjoy a number of different activities based on the Book Week books, or on Sue Whiting’s stories. It is not too late - if anyone would like to order signed copies of Sue’s books click on the following link and the Children’s Bookshop will deliver the books to school.

Congratulations to Kindergarten Blue, Kindergarten Gold and 2 Blue, the classes who earned a Gold Star this past week – a great effort! Thank you to the many students who do remember their Library bag each week for their lesson, and are therefore able to borrow from the many beautiful books we have.
Remember to bring your Library bag when you wear your sport uniform, even if you’re not sure it’s Library as well - just in case!
Tomorrow Thursday will be Year 3.
Next week:

Tuesday – Year 6
Wednesday – Year 1
