SPORTS NEWS

CROSS COUNTRY 2021 - Wednesday 24 March 2021

This year we will be holding our event at Mt Carmel Catholic College, Varroville.

All students from Year 3 - 6 will be attending and students turning 8 years old from Year 2 will be invited to attend. Students who turn 8 this year will run with the 9 years age group.

Students will catch the bus from school to Mt Carmel, run their event and then return to school when they have completed it.

Permission for this event is being sent through COMPASS, except for students in Year 2 turning 8 years old.

At this stage we are still working out details regarding parents and spectators and a COMPASS notification will be sent out at a later date with this information.

REPRESENTATIVE SPORT - DIOCESAN TRIALS

Over recent weeks we have had a number of students try out for Diocesan sporting teams. Each student tried their best and represented our school in a wonderful way.

Netball - Sophie R

Congratulations to Mia B who has been selected in the Primary Girls (Football) Soccer team to represent the Diocese in Goulburn in April.

WEST REGION SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Wednesday 3 March the school’s swim team travelled to the Gordon Fetterplace pool at Bradbury to compete in the CEDow Primary West Region Swimming Carnival. Our school had 16 competitors swimming in events from the under 9s through to the opens. All our students competed with enthusiasm and spirit in representing Mary Immaculate. We all should be very proud of their efforts. Special mentions go to the Girl’s Senior Relay Team consisting of Sophie R, Leila C, Caitin R and Summer B who qualified for the Wollongong Diocesan Swim Trials. Leila, Caitlin, Summer and Jack also qualified for individual events. Congratulations to Leila for winning 3^rd place Champion Girl Senior Division and Jack for winning 2^nd Place Champion Boy Senior Division.

Wollongong Diocesan Swimming Trials 8 March

Congratulations to Jack B for making the Wollongong Swim Team in the 50m Backstroke event. Jack will now represent Wollongong at the MacKillop Swim Trials at Homebush on 22 March. Good Luck Jack !
